A new study in the Journal of American Medical Association supports the benefits of chiropractic as a first line treatment for low back pain.

The study found that spinal manipulation showed statistically significant improvements in pain and function for up to 6 weeks with no serious adverse side effects.

The British Columbia Chiropractic Association said that this study provided the needed evidence to support what patients and practitioners are seeing in practice.  They also said that approximately 1 million people utilize chiropractic annually in B.C.
